The story of this collaboration began in July 2024, when both Fuguku and 2 Mai were part of PINTU Incubator and showcased their work at JF3 Fashion Festival. It was here, in Jakarta, that these two visionary brands connected, drawn to each other not just by aesthetic alignment but also by a shared commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and conscious fashion business practices. The chemistry was undeniable, and within a year, they unveiled their first co-designed creation: The Shell Bag.
The Shell Bag is more than a fashion accessory, it is a celebration of cross-cultural creativity. Fuguku brought its signature textile techniques inspired by Indonesian Jumputan and Japanese Bai Shibori, creating a mesmerizing blue-and-green tie-dye pattern that echoes both heritage and innovation.
2 Mai added its own French flair, designing a second removable strap using its signature striped grosgrain ribbon, ethically sourced from deadstock fabrics. The bag itself is handcrafted in Indonesia, while the strap is produced in France, a true reflection of global craftsmanship rooted in sustainability.
The collaborative piece is now being launched exclusively at 2 Mai’s pop-up event in Paris from 13–15 June 2025, held at 30 rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The collection will also be available online at 2maiparis.com the following week, allowing global fashion lovers to own a piece of this remarkable story.
As a fashion incubator, PINTU is thrilled to witness this collaboration flourish. It reflects the essence of our mission, to connect Indonesian talents with international opportunities, and to build platforms where design, culture, and sustainability can intersect meaningfully.
Through our incubator program, we strive to amplify voices like Fuguku’s, support cross-border partnerships, and showcase how Indonesian creativity can contribute to and shape the global fashion narrative.
This collaboration is not just a product, it’s a movement. And at PINTU, we’re honored to be part of the journey.
