As a prelude to the JF3 Fashion Festival 2024, JF3 Talk Vol. 3 - Journalist Workshop took place on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the IFI Auditorium Thamrin, Central Jakarta. This final edition of the JF3 Talk! series brought together experts from the international fashion industry, along with influential fashion editors from esteemed media in a lively discussion on “Global Fashion Trends, Sustainability, and Technological Innovation in the Fashion Industry.”
As a prominent figure in Indonesia’s fashion industry, Thresia Mareta opened the discussion by describing the Indonesia’s fashion industry as “stagnant”. In response to this, PINTU Incubator was initiated by the partnership of Thresia Mareta as the founder of LAKON Indonesia, Soegianto Nagaria as the Chairman of JF3, and French Embassy in Indonesia through Institut Français d’Indonésie (IFI). PINTU Incubator is an Indonesian-French bilateral program designed for creatives and SMEs in the fashion industry from both countries. Its goal is to prepare promising talents for the international market with a strong emphasis on sustainability and traditional craftsmanship.
In its third year, PINTU Incubator has supported numerous promising designers through intensive mentorship with international fashion experts. Curated PINTU Incubator participants are also given valuable opportunities to present their collections at Indonesia’s largest fashion festival, JF3. PINTU Incubator has also achieved a significant milestone by sending participants to the Premiere Classe Trade Show in Paris three times: in March 2023, September 2023, and upcoming in September 2024.
Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy Minister of Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, emphasized the importance of partnership with the international fashion insiders to better understand trends and market demands. This vision aligns with the core mission of the PINTU Incubator, which is dedicated to bridging promising fashion talent with global opportunities.
The discussion concluded with Sylvie, Director of Premiere Classe Trade Show Paris, sharing her message to Indonesian designers aspiring to be part of the global fashion ecosystem: "Be true to yourself as a genuine designer by prioritizing persona, brand, innovation, and quality."
