A delegation of French fashion professionals embarked on a one-day cultural exploration of Jakarta as part of Focus Week 2024. Organized by PINTU Incubator and supported by the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, the trip aimed to deepen the French experts' understanding of Jakarta's rich cultural heritage and its potential for creative collaborations.

As part of Focus Week 2024, PINTU Incubator organized a unique cultural trip in Jakarta. Two fashion figures from France, Lydia Harroch, a professional in retail image and brand positioning, and Josephine Schmitt, a designer-researcher with a focus on textile innovation, were invited to this program. The trip aimed to introduce them to Jakarta's rich cultural heritage and explore potential avenues for creative collaboration.

The exclusive one-day tour, held on Saturday, July 27, was organized with the support of The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf Jakarta), aiming to deepen the understanding of Jakarta's rich cultural landscape and its creative potential.

The day began with an immersive tour of the National Monument (Monas), a symbol of Indonesia's independence and a treasure trove of the nation's history. The French experts were guided through exhibits that chronicled Indonesia's journey to independence, providing them with valuable insights into the country's cultural identity and heritage. This experience offered a profound understanding of the historical context that influences contemporary Indonesian design and fashion.

The cultural exploration continued at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), a vast tourism complex that showcases the diverse cultural heritage of Indonesia’s many regions. Here, Lydia Harroch and Josephine Schmitt were introduced to traditional crafts, textiles, and architectural styles from across the archipelago. The visit not only highlighted Indonesia's vibrant cultural diversity but also provided inspiration for potential collaborations between French and Indonesian creatives, particularly in the fields of tourism and fashion innovations.

Through the "Inspiring Jakarta's Cultural Tapestry", PINTU Incubator demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the France-Indonesia fashion ecosystem. This cultural exchange, a highlight of the 2024 Focus Week program, fostered intercultural innovation and promoted responsible fashion practices, aiming to create a positive impact on the fashion industries of both nations.
