Jakarta, July 10, 2025 — Entering its fourth year of implementation, PINTU Incubator continues to demonstrate its role as a strategic bilateral program that supports young creatives from two countries, namely Indonesia and France. In the press conference held today, PINTU reviewed its achievements over the past three years and introduced its newest program: the Residency Program, designed as a new step to strengthen the creative ties between the two countries through a direct and collaborative approach.
Since its launch in 2022, PINTU Incubator has served as a development platform for young designers through a process of curation, professional mentoring, cultural exchange, professional experience, and exposure to the global market. This program connects young designers with experts, institutions, and creative ecosystems from both countries. In three years, PINTU has attracted more than 10,000 interested brands, selected 51 incubated participants, and engaged 86 expert mentors, including 33 from France.
As part of strengthening international cooperation, PINTU signed an MoU with École Duperré Paris, one of the leading art and fashion institutions in France. The signing, carried out by Thresia Mareta, Co-initiator of PINTU Incubator, and Alain Soreil, Director of École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré, took place on May 28, 2025, at Rumah Tradisional Kudus, Bentara Budaya, and was witnessed directly by the French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, and JF3 Chairman, Soegianto Nagaria.
Thresia Mareta, Co-initiator of PINTU Incubator and Founder of LAKON Indonesia, expressed her gratitude for the continuous appreciation from various parties, including the visit of the French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, as well as direct support from the French government. President Emmanuel Macron explicitly expressed his support for the PINTU program during his speech on May 29 at Borobudur Temple, calling it a tangible form of cultural collaboration that should continue to be developed. “When President Macron mentioned the PINTU program directly in his speech at Borobudur Temple, I realized that it was not only a recognition of our program but also a powerful symbol that culture, education, and creativity can unite two nations,” said Thresia Mareta, Co-initiator of PINTU Incubator and Founder of LAKON Indonesia.
The year 2025 marks a new milestone for PINTU Incubator with the launch of the Residency Program, a residency program for young French designers designed to create direct encounters between French creativity and the richness of Indonesian culture. For three months, participants will live and work in two regions of Indonesia, studying batik techniques in Java and exploring traditional weaving in eastern Indonesia.
This year, the two selected young French designers are Kozue Sullerot and Priscille Berthaud. Both are interning at LAKON Indonesia, collaborating to create a cross-cultural collection that will be presented at the LAKON Store and the prestigious Premiere Classe Paris event.
“This Residency Program is a tangible step for us to deepen cross-cultural collaboration. Through this program, they work directly with artisans and engage in a creative process together. They are not only receiving technical training but also gaining professional and personal experiences,” said Thresia Mareta.
JF3 Chairman and Co-initiator of PINTU Incubator, Soegianto Nagaria, also highlighted the journey of PINTU as part of JF3’s long-term commitment to nurturing Indonesia’s fashion industry.
“For more than two decades, JF3 has continued to promote the growth of young talent, develop fashion businesses, uplift artisans and traditional craftsmanship, and open opportunities for cross-industry and cross-country collaborations. This consistency reflects our commitment to building a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem. We don’t just celebrate creativity—we invest in it and direct it toward real markets and global exposure,” he said.
According to Soegianto, after three years, PINTU Incubator has not only met expectations but has become a vital platform in driving the emergence of potential brands with an international perspective.
At the same event, PINTU Incubator also announced six brands that will be showcased at the JF3 Fashion Festival 2025, namely: CLV, Dya Sejiwa, Lil Public, Nona Rona, Rizkya Batik, and Denim It Up. As a result of a six-month incubation process, these brands will present their collections in a collaborative show titled “Echoes of the Future by PINTU Incubator featuring École Duperré,” to be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 4:30 PM WIB at Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading, as part of the JF3 Fashion Festival 2025. The collaboration will also involve three students from École Duperré Paris: Pierre Pinget, Bjorn Backes, and Mathilde Reneaux.
Through the joint collections to be showcased, designers from Indonesia and France will celebrate the fusion of traditional values and the spirit of innovation.
With a series of continually evolving programs and achievements, PINTU Incubator stands as a fashion incubation model that is not only relevant but also visionary. PINTU is more than just a training program—it is a gateway between nations, generations, and ideas. This is where the future of Indonesian fashion is shaped: collaborative, culturally rooted, and ready to break into the world.
