Highlight

PINTU Incubator takes great pride in celebrating a remarkable achievement as one of its initiators, Thresia Mareta, receives a prestigious recognition. The Ministry of Culture of France has awarded her the Knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for her unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting Indonesia’s cultural heritage while elevating Indonesian fashion on the international stage.

The distinguished award was presented in a warm and prestigious ceremony, attended by the French Ambassador to Indonesia, Fabien Penone, along with high-ranking officials, industry leaders, and other esteemed guests. The Ordre des Arts et des Lettres is one of France’s highest honors, recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to arts and culture, both nationally and globally. This honor underscores the world’s appreciation of Thresia Mareta’s relentless efforts in merging tradition with innovation, ensuring the continued growth of Indonesia’s cultural and fashion industries.

Beyond her recognition in France, Thresia Mareta has continuously shown her deep commitment to the Indonesian fashion industry. She serves as an advisor to the JF3 Fashion Festival, an initiative by Summarecon, which has been a consistent platform for fashion creators and artisans for the past 21 years. Through her expertise and vision, she has introduced numerous innovations and breakthroughs, one of which is the establishment of PINTU Incubator.

Understanding that cultural preservation cannot be achieved by LAKON Indonesia alone, Thresia Mareta co-founded PINTU Incubator—a bilateral program developed in collaboration with LAKON Indonesia, JF3, and the French Embassy in Indonesia through IFI. This initiative plays a crucial role in supporting young creators from both nations, helping them build sustainable businesses with a strong focus on market expansion and long-term business resilience.

By connecting Indonesian designers and artisans with France’s fashion ecosystem, PINTU Incubator provides mentorship, industry insights, and global opportunities, enabling participants to compete at an international level. The tangible results of this program speak for themselves, as several participants have successfully sold their products to international buyers and boutiques across different continents. Many have also doubled their revenues and secured invaluable opportunities, such as participation in the prestigious Paris Trade Show and, for the first time, the chance to pursue studies at École Duperré, one of Paris’s most esteemed fashion institutions.

The ecosystem comprising LAKON Indonesia, JF3 Fashion Festival, and PINTU Incubator has grown into one of the most powerful platforms in its field, offering comprehensive assets and facilities. This success marks a new chapter in the history of Indonesia’s fashion industry. Through collaboration with the French Embassy, this ecosystem has become the only one in Indonesia that is officially linked to France’s fashion industry, strengthening its influence and expanding opportunities for Indonesian designers and artisans.

Ordre des Arts et des Lettres is a distinguished honor established by the French Minister of Culture on May 2, 1957. It is awarded to individuals who have significantly contributed to enriching and globally influencing the fields of arts, culture, and literature. The exclusivity of this award is evident in its notable recipients, which include world-renowned figures such as painter Pablo Picasso, designer Issey Miyake, actress Meryl Streep, musician David Bowie, and philosopher Umberto Eco.

From Indonesia, Thresia Mareta now joins a prestigious list of past honorees, including renowned sculptor Nyoman Nuarta, filmmaker Garin Nugroho, and artist Guruh Soekarno Putra. Her recognition is not just a personal achievement but also a milestone for Indonesia’s fashion industry, inspiring the next generation of creators to continue innovating and showcasing their cultural heritage on the world stage.

This accolade is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and collaboration in shaping the future of fashion and culture. PINTU Incubator hopes that this recognition will inspire young creatives to keep pushing boundaries, preserving traditions, and making their mark on the global stage. With initiatives like PINTU Incubator, the vision of a thriving, internationally recognized Indonesian fashion industry becomes increasingly tangible, paving the way for future generations to continue this legacy of excellence.
